Happy Birthday Liam Thomas!!! - San Diego Birth Photography

I had the pleasue of being friend, support, and photographer for one of my best friends, Chrystal. We've been waiting a loong time for this little Mr's arrival. You may remember this beautiful mommy from her maternity pictures which can be viewed here and also a few posts below. Daddy is a Marine helping the Afghanistan effort and was on the phone periodically through the laboring process. This birth really hit home because there were so many parallels between my labor with my daughter, Savannah. I had the wonderful opportunity to have my birth photographed to help document the experience so Savannah's daddy, who was in also fighting a war in middle east (Iraq) could experience it in some way as well. I will forever cherish those photos and I wanted to do the same for someone. Chrystal labored long and hard without the epidural. I couldn't help but tear up watching her in so much pain because I have been there myself! It was such a relief when she finally got it and was able to relax, get some sleep, and well, not be in pain! Liam Thomas was born September 18th, 2010 at 11:46 am weighing a healthy 8 lbs 10 oz! This little man shares the same birthday as my nephew Jackson. Two years ago exactly, I was in the hospital with my sister during her labor, while her husband was stuck in El Paso, TX due to Army duties. My daughter Savannah was born at 11:47 am and I totally called it that Liam was gonna be born then too! (I was one minute off, darn!) Liam's daddy heard his first cries over the phone, along with everyone else in the room crying. Hahaha. I love you Chrystal, you did an amazing job and you're going to be an even more amazing mother of two beautiful boys. I'm so happy I could be a part of this special day. God is good.

Here is a slide show of Chrystal and her birthing experience. Grab some tissues! :)
