Get those Dresses out Ladies! - San Diego Wedding Photographer

Are you going to get married? Did you already have your wedding and want to wear your dress again? Alaina and I are looking to expand our "bridal" portfolio. We are looking for models who are willing to get those wedding dresses out of your box, closets, storage, where ever they are, and get out to take some cool pictures with us! We are dying to do a "Trash the Dress" session...which doesn't necessarily mean you'll really trash it...even though some do. Haha. Trash the Dress simply means a shoot where the bride is in an unlikely setting. A Beach, forest, field, etc. Alaina will do your hair and makeup, and your pictures will be taken by yours truly. The session will be at no cost to you, and there is no obligation to buy the prints.

If you are interested, please email me at contact@larissamanibog.com

Please include the following in the email:

Name:
Age:
Type of Dress you Own:
Are you willing to get it a little dirty?:
Why you should be chosen:

And if you could, please include a picture or a link to a picture (from facebook/myspace) so we can try and match types of looks to the appropriate theme/session.

We look forward to hearing from all of you! :)

Glowing Mama-To-Be - San Diego Maternity Photographer

I shot my first maternity session this weekend, and I can honestly say I think it's one of my favorites to do... There is just something sooo beautiful about a pregnant woman. I had Natalie, the wonderful FRO from Benjie's old unit, be my model, and wow, she looked gorgeous! Alaina, my SIL, did her hair and makeup and she helped assist me on location. If you read my blog regularly, you know I just adore her! Of course, she did an awesome job as always. For this shoot, I wanted to do something different than the same ol' maternity portraits people get done. I wanted something unique, creative, and most of all showcase the beauty of a mother carrying a life inside of her. The lighting was gorgeous and perfect for that golden "glow" I was striving for. The ocean swell was still big from the past week of non-stop storm which turned out AWESOME. We had some laughs (we thought seals were coming into our cave we were shooting in), a LARGE audience, and a lady trying to steal some pictures of Natalie! Hahah. All in all, we came out with some very angelic and peaceful portraits that I am very proud of. Thank you Natalie for braving the cold, WINTER sea breeze for these. I can't wait to see your little princess!!! Here are a few of my favorites...okay, I admit more than a few. There were just a lot of great shots, I couldn't pick! Enjoy!

Walk 'Til Morning

I'm on a roll here, 2nd blog post today! If you look back a couple of posts, I had posted a preview of Tom Renaud's album shoot. Here are some of my favorite from that session. Thank you Tom for letting me be a part of an amazing album!

Sexy Mommy! - San Diego Boudoir Photographer

Hey all! I have been so busy but so blessed from all the opportunities coming my way. I recently just finished my website, so please go check it out and tell all your friends!

I also did my first boudoir shoot with a good friend of mine. We had planned to do this I don't know how many months ago for a Valentine's gift for her husband. The last few months they have been TTC, and she now has a bun in the oven! :) So, the boudoir session that was on hold, was turned into a rush order. Haha. You would never know that behind the scenes, she was battling a nasty headache and morning sickness, because she looked beautiful! Here is a preview (with permission of course!) and on my website, you can find a few more from the collection. Congratulations Tyler & Chrystal on baby #2!

Creative Minds Think Alike!

Boy, am I pooped! But what an awesome day it was! I had the privilege to shoot Tom Renaud's (an old friend's husband) album cover for his...get ready for it...14th CD! Wait, let me start over...that old friend of mine was my 5th and 6th grade teacher, whom I've always had a special place for in my heart. She was the woman who really encouraged me to tap into my creativity and is the one I credit for my love of watercolor! She will always be considered one of the most inspirational people in my life. I love you Ms. K! And being such a wonderful woman herself, of course she would have a wonderful husband that I finally got to meet. I was assisted today by the wonderful Alaina Manibog (kudos on the "man-friendly" hair and makeup too Lane. Heheh) which is always a pleasure. Tom has been playing guitar for over 40 years, and let me tell you, it sure is apparent by his playing. They played the title song of the album "Walk 'til Morning" for us to get the feel and vibe of his style for the shoot and it was just beautiful! His music is so wonderfully comforting and soothing, I felt like just laying down right there in the studio! Here is a sneak peek of what's to come. Like my new logo? :)

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had an awesome New Year and Christmas. Ours was great! But when is quality time spent with your family not? My sister, her husband and 3 kids drove from Plano, TX and stayed out here to spend it with our family for two weeks. How I miss them!!! Then the day that they left, my husband's sister, her boyfriend, and brother came to stay with us for the New Year. Along with the joking and fun games we played, we had a long serious talk about our lives as Christians, and it ended in lots of good prayer and commitments to change our lives for the better. I cannot tell you how excited I am for 2010! As for now, I'm enjoying my time with my husband and daughter while we are still together for the beginning of the year, and I'm concentrating on my photography skills and getting closer and closer to that goal of having my own business. I have decided to take on the challenge of taking a picture every day. I will be sharing a few of them here and there, so be sure to check back. Lots of love everyone!

Here is a shot I took at the Oceanside Pier of my husband and daughter on Jan 2nd. Can you believe she is 10 months now?! Where does the time go!?!
