Young Love

This is my daughter Savannah and her best friend Vinny. You may remember him from the pumpkin patch pictures in October. But, because of the wonderful weather we've been having in San Diego, I really wanted to do an outdoor shoot. Everywhere I go, there is soft, new grass from all that rain we had a while ago.  This was a last minute shoot, and I found this location just a couple hours before... If you know me, I love antique/Victorian, shabby chic, and all that good stuff! So this was a lot of fun. :) Vinny always tries to hug and kiss Savannah, and she normally doesn't go for it. But today...as you can see, she was all for it. Such a little model.

Military Appreciation | San Diego Family Photographer

Today is my wonderful husbands 24th birthday. It's almost been 10 years since he's been a best friend of mine.  And boy, how much we both have changed in those 10 years. In the last 5 years, we've been through 3 deployments. Two tours to Iraq and one WestPac where he was a part of the Pirate Take down Rhib Team. You know, the one that made history last year with the Magellan Star! :) I've gone through one as a girlfriend, one as a pregnant wife who gave birth just 3 days before his homecoming, and one as a mother of a toddler. Where has the time gone...? Looking back at all of this, it really doesn't seem too long ago that we were in the talent show at our elementary school together! Going through our pictures of us, we have so many funny memories & parts of us that I never want to get lost or forget and some, I do. Hahaha. But even though we have hundreds and hundreds of pictures...I wish we had more. And I was thinking about how a lot of those memories, we spend apart because of his military duty. When he's gone, I take a picture of everything, just to be sure he doesn't miss out on anything going on at home with our family & daughter. When he's here, I take a picture of everything just so we can always remember those cherished times together also. Not everyone does this, and I want to encourage everyone to...especially military families. Sometimes, pictures are all we can have of our loved ones for months...and sadly, some ever again.

So, to encourage more photos other than those on your camera phone (I'm guilty of it too) I'm offering a special military package.

All types of sessions in the San Diego area (excluding boudoir) and a CD of your images will get a 20% military discount year round if you are active duty.

Here's an example.

$200 Family Session Fee (4 members)
$275 Disc of Digital files with print release
$475 Total
-20% ($95)
$380.00

Please go to www.LarissaManibog.com for specific session pricing or feel free to email me with any questions at contact@larissamanibog.com

I really hope this encourages all of you to have pictures taken more often. Whether it be by me, or your photographer you are loyal to already. Happy Shooting!

It's the little things... - San Diego Portrait & Wedding Photographer

The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.  ~Elisabeth Foley

My best friend from High School included this amazing necklace with my Christmas present. And I can honestly say it was one of my favorite gifts this holiday; of course, following my husband coming home from deployment! I just wanted to share it, because I LOVE this! I think it's the cutest thing and it's photography related, right? :) It was such a thoughtful gift... I love those little random gifts that you can tell someone put some thought into. Even though we live hours away, every time I get to see my friend, it's like old times. The time in between our visits or talks always seem non-existent. I love that we both have our own lives, but still make time for "us." I love you Stacy...and thank you!
