Kanable Homecoming - Welcome Home Marine! | Camp Pendleton Homecoming Photographer

I will never, ever get sick of homecomings. They remind me how awesome it is and how proud I am to be an American and Marine wife. I love being able to share not only my own experiences with my friends, family and fans, but being able to share others as well.

Kelly needed a homecoming photographer because her previously hired photographer canceled the day before her husband was to arrive. We talked and decided to meet at 3:30 am at the specified location that next morning. On my way, I texted her to make sure the time was still the same, and they actually ended up changing the arrival time to be earlier. They were to arrive in 30 minutes, and I was still at LEAST 45 minutes away. I ended up having to pull over and puke on the way there, which really didn't help my time crunch. I think it was morning sickness + empty stomach + nerves that poor Kelly STILL might not get her photos. This homecoming was about quadruple the size of the last homecoming I did for the same unit...and parking was crazy. They did the whole nine yards and The Patriot Guard was there to welcome the Marines home also. God Bless those guys! I found a parking spot as quickly as I could and sprinted to the crowd while on the phone to try and find her. I made it, about 10-15 minutes before he walked out. I just can't even explain the happiness my heart felt seeing everyone single member of the family's face just light up when they were re-united. The two little girls just melted my heart with their big smiles and love for Daddy. He even brought them two stuffed animals from Germany. I felt like I knew them because the little one reminded me SO much of my neice Mackenzie and my daughter Savannah... I immediately fell in love. Believe it or not, these aren't all the pictures, so prepare for a long post and lots of scrolling. I just hate summarizing "stories." 

Kelly, thank you so much for choosing me to share your homecoming experience. You have such a beautiful family, and I wish only the best for you all after the Marine Corps. Welcome home Marine and thank you for your sacrifice!

Welcome Home Marine! - Thomas Homecoming \ Camp Pendleton Homecoming Photographer

This homecoming was different than any other homecoming I've done. The marines were due to arrive at 5:30 am and they actually ended up arriving earlier than expected! I was sitting in my car waiting for my client to call me and let me know she was there when I saw the buses roll up!!! My heart dropped into my stomach because I knew she wasn't there yet... I hauled my you know what outside as quickly as I could and I sprinted down the parking lot chasing the buses. Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out all my camera settings as quickly as I could to get pictures of the Marines stepping off that bus. I got the pictures. WHEW! And luckily, the marines had to go to the armory before they came back out, so she didn't miss him! Maria surprised her husband by flying all the way out from Alabama. He had a slight idea or suspicion that she might be there, but wasn't too sure. The look on his face when she called his name just melted my heart! He got to meet his baby boy for the first time and  couldn't stop smiling. Me, on the other hand, fighting to hold back the tears! I was so happy for Maria. What a great Mother's Day gift to have her husband home. Isn't baby Thomas just the cutest thing?! Welcome home Cpl Thomas! Your wife did a great job holding down the fort! Enjoy your time together and thank you for your sacrifice & service!!!
